T H E  A R T I S T  - John Zaldivar

"I'm a retired Metro-Dade law enforcement officer.  During my career, I was exposed to a diverse group of people whose lives had been altered by their actions of which many of them involved a weapon. I saw how guns alone are not destructive, but only in the wrong hands.  Just how war has touched many victims, war has also created heroes. I thought to myself, how could I change the perception of something that many see as a negative into a positive? The craftsmanship of a fire arm is a piece of art itself if we can look at it with different eyes.  Bright and with color instead of dark on metal.  Much work needs to be done to bring some color into the darkness that many people carry."
